officialmissgeeklychic asked: I love your blog! Do you by any chance have an iPhone? If so, what medical apps do you recommend?
THANK YOU!!!! What an interesting question! I have a couple of apps but these are my top three:
1.) Lab Values- This one is great for students and practicing RN’s. It’s $1.99 on itunes and it goes through lab values (obviously) and explains them! Why the value could be high and possibilities why they could be low and the rationale and patho-physiology.
2.) Micromedix- this app is free and reliable (my hospital and many others use micromedix as a resource for staff). This app is great for refreshing yourself on medications.
3.) Prognosis- I LOVE this app!!!! I downloaded it three years ago and I am addicted. Best of all its FREE! The app presents case studies and you decide the interventions and see if you fixed the patient. It has helped tremendously with critical thinking. Plus, it goes through rationales for everything. The app has expanded so much and has many other sub apps (prognosis respiratory, prognosis diabetes, prognosis cardiology, etc etc etc). I highly highly highly recommend this app for those that want to improve critical thinking. I think this app is more geared to medical students- but hey, there is nothing wrong with a well versed nurse!
